What To Do In Branson

The best attractions in Branson are the lakes!

Lake Taneycomo is the 'fisherman's lake.' It is very cold and not good for swimming, but it is perfect for the weekend fishing trip!

Table Rock Lake - The ‘Activities’ Lake is warmer and better for boating, swimming, skiing, and fishing as well. There is a brochure in the box for State Park Marina on Table Rock Lake. If you want to rent a boat and do some tubing or skiing, the State Park Marina is your best bet and its only 5 minutes away!

Moonshine Beach

Moonshine Beach - If you want to just go to the Lake and enjoy a relaxing day without renting a boat, then head over to Moonshine Beach just below the Chateau entrance next to the Table Rock Dam. Its only 5 bucks per vehicle to get access for the whole day! And it is only a 5 minute drive from the cabins!

Dewy Short Visitors Center - This free nature museum and visitors center is located just off Table Rock Dam and is only a 5 minute drive from the cabins. This brand new state of the art building has a high platform to view the lake and many exhibits featuring nature found around the area and the building of the Table Rock Dam in the 1950's. You can also inquire about a tour of the Dam.

Our dining favorites or better termed “Where the Locals Eat!”

The Devil’s Pool Restaurant –

Located on the Big Cedar property about 10 miles south of Branson. Don’t take the shortcut to the restaurant. Drive down through the main entrance. You will soon discover why they charge a minimum of $250.00/person/night to stay there! Follow signs to Devil’s Pool. There is an upstairs dining area that is upscale and a bit pricey. ($12-$30) We eat here on special occasions. Definitely call for reservations.

Dobbins Restaurant (inside the Keeter Center) -

This restaurant is located on the College of the Ozarks campus.  The immense 100,000 sq. ft. log building will take your breath away. Students from the music department offer live music each evening, Thursday through Sunday. The food and the atmosphere are wonderful.

Pizza By the Chef -

You want a ‘to die for’ pizza? This is where we go. It is gourmet pizza. This is a local secret.

The Branson Landing -

Home to many great restaurants and retail shops, The Branson Landing on Taneycomo Lake has quickly become a must-see. Anchored by Bass Pro Shops and Belk Retail Store, you can get a lot of shopping done in one day...maybe several days! Our favorites on the Landing are Cantina Loredo and Texas Land and Cattle.

Danna’s BBQ -

Located just up the road just past the Fall Creek Steak and Catfish House, this is a fantastic burger and BBQ sandwich shop. Lots of fun menu items and everything is made fresh. Can’t beat good ole’ local cookin’! When you eat here, you’ll often be standing in line to make your order. They seem to always be busy.

The Chateau Grill -

If you are looking for a classy ambiance with a nice view of the Lake, the Restaurant inside of the Chateau on the Lake is a great place. We have celebrated special occasions there like New Years Eve or Birthdays and it has never disappointed. They have a great menu selection and a great wine selection, not to mention a great dessert selection

The Rib Crib -

All I can say is: All you can eat ribs every Tuesday night from 4pm til close. Does this need more explanation?

The Sushi House -

This is located on the main 76 Strip. The Sushi house looks more like a deli on the inside and is not particuarly special looking, but the sushi is fabulous! It is one of our most favorite places to eat. The 'Dynamite Roll' is everyone's favorite!

Japanese Kitchen -

Located in Hollister just outside of Branson, this is a local favorite. It looks like a hole in the wall and is a very small place, but the food is to die for and the prices are amazing!
